LEADERSHIP
The Potter County Sheriff's Office Administration is composed of the elected Sheriff and the staff members who are chosen by the Sheriff to lead and guide the department. Sheriff Brian Thomas was first elected in 2008 and took office in January of 2009. He was elected to a second term in 2012, a third in 2016, a fourth in 2021, and after running unopposed in 2024, will begin his fifth term in 2025. Chief Deputy Scott Giles has been with the department since 1989. As Chief Deputy, he works alongside Sheriff Thomas on decision-making and budgetary matters, in addition to overseeing the entire department.

ENFORCEMENT
On the enforcement side of the Sheriff's Office, there is a Captain and three Lieutenants. Captain Pat Zamora has been with Sheriff's Office since 1991. His lieutenants are Steven Orcutt, Dustin Langwell and Kory Brown. Lt. S. Orcutt started his career at the Sheriff's Office in 2005. He supervises the areas of Patrol, Courthouse Security and Civil/Process. Lt. Langwell was hired in 2000. His areas include the Criminal Investigations and Crime Scene Units. Lt. K. Brown began his time with the Sheriff's Office in 2004. He is in charge of the areas of Dispatch and Training & Personnel.

CORRECTIONS
The Corrections Division of the Sheriff's Office has a Captain and two Lieutenants. Captain Jeremy Frazier has been with the department since 1994. His lieutenants are Darrel Harp and Oscar Valeriano. Lt. Harp began his career with the Sheriff's Office in 2002. He oversees Jail Operations, which encompasses all aspects of housing and processing of inmates. Lt. Valeriano began his career with the Sheriff’s Office in 2000. He supervises the areas of Jail Administration, including Records, Medical, Maintenance, and Transportation.
